| My designs aim for an elegant simplicity balancing the practical use of space with the aesthetics of good design, softened by carefully chosen planting. I am equally at home in town and countryside and aim for my designs to show sensitivity to both building style and to the surrounding environment whether it be beautiful rolling hills or a smart Georgian terrace in London. | | | | | | | .GIF) | | | | | My designs use geometry and other techniques to lay out space while avoiding the stiffness and predictability of symmetry and formality. The end products are modern but not stark – I use varied planting to ensure the garden is a restful and uplifting place to be. Whilst the garden deserves as much design attention as the house interior, it is not just an external room - the planting makes it a different environment with a distinct role in the lives of its owners. |
