Show garden

This garden was designed for the Chelsea Flower Show with a view to gaining sponsorship from Homes & Gardens magazine.  The small 5m square site slopes from front to back and will be viewed from one side only.

My design is based on an "inside/outside" theme with a glass garden room and terraced garden with interchangeable materials and functions.  A sunken pool flows from inside to outside and UV-filtered glass doors use an "up-and-over" mechanism to give an open feel and shelter from the sun and rain.

The design features a sculptural curved wall which sweeps up to form a bridge between the room and the outside structures and supports a cantilevered frosted glass bench.  Firepits are both inside and out and the outdoor seating is wired for internet use.  The planting is sculptural and largely evergreen for all year round use.
